wipers work half the time
i have an '84 f250 w/ a bit of a problem. the windshield wipers don't wanna work all the time. sometimes they'll work when i first turn 'em on and sometimes they don't. the times they do work, they only work for a few mins. then stop or they'll only work on high for a few swipes. i've replaced the wiper motor and switch and it still does the same thing. what the hell is wrong w/ this thing?

ok, i was thinking it might be the relay, only problem is that i don't know its location on the truck and i can't find the new part anywhere. anyone know itz location and where i can buy a new one...by the way the truck does have intermittant wipers... would also like to know the location of the wiper delay relay. thanx!!

I have the same basic problem on my86 F250, work some and stop, then slow on hi-speed only and then stop. I replaced the switch but with same results.
Is the relay/modulator is that 2"x2"x2" black box just forward/next to the wiper switch? I quess if the wiper moter was bad the wipers wouldn't work at all? When I called the parets house, they could not find and relay/modular for the wiper system.

A quick update.... I went to the Ford Parts Counter and they have the part to fix intermittent wiper problem. It is called the Wipwr Modular/Govenor...cost $125.00.
I went to junkyard, found the same part for $10.00 and it worked.
I am very happy and thanks to those that have had input on this subject that I was able to get great information to even go in the right direction. Thank You.
