Howdy,
I've got a '73 F250 4x4 and I'm trying to figure out if there is an easy way to remove the clutch pedal. It seems like there should be someway to do it without removing the brake booster and pedal.
Hi,
Thanks for responding! What's the best way to loosen the shaft assembly? Are you saying the pivoting bar will slide out through the bracket? I'm not sure I fully understand.
the clutch pedal will be the last thing to come of when you slide the shaft out that holds the brake pedal also. you can just let the brake pedal hang on the pushrod for the booster until you're ready put it back together. if I remember right the automatic trucks had a bolt for a pivot and the manual trucks used the clutch pedal with the shaft as part of the pedal.
it can be fun upside down under there getting it all aligned again without trashing the bushings, but its not too bad.
i hope this is what you need, not sure exactly if your removing the entire bracket or just the pedal itself?
Hey Will,
How is it going?
I'm just trying to remove the pedal itself. I need to weld something onto it for my hydraulic clutch. I'm just about to go out and take a look at it right now. Is there any trick to removing the shaft?
Yeah I got it out. It was pretty easy, except for the spring. The whole time I just didn't realize that what I was looking at was an e-clip. I also managed to break that clip removing it , but thats ok.
