Only run choked
Problem: 1973 F350, with 390 motor. Engine will only run with choke fully enganged. Have replaced Carberator, changed intake manifold gasket, same problem exists. Any ideas what to check next?

Kind of sounds like a vacuum leak........engine is getting too much air.....so it runs too lean....close the choke reduce airflow into carb and it runs....possibly a broken vacuum line or a leaky carb gasket.
Or how about the idle/mixture screws being set too lean? Or plugged fuel jet in carb?
