Dumb questions about pushbutton start

Bear with me as I really am confused about a couple of things.

- first....can I lock myself out? Say I leave the key fob and exit the vehicle hitting the door locks on the way out. I'm officially locked out right? Dumb questions I know but honestly I have no idea.

-second.....if I get in the vehicle and start it but drive off without the fob (whatever stupid circumstances) will it keep running?

Thanks

You can test both scenarios

in the first one, roll done the windows first, then get out and try to lock the door. On my keyed truck, the doors won’t lock if I do that.

In the second one, leave your fob in the garage and drive down the driveway.

Thanks Seville I don't like it but sooner or later they all will be pushbutton.
My kids cars have it and I'm too much of a dinosaur to understand it.

We have an Acura with the pushbutton. It is pretty sensitive as to fob location. It gets all excited if your passenger gets out of the car with the fob and you drive away. We have not tried the "lock in" yet.

Like anything else, some pluses, some "meh" as they say.

There are more things. Sometimes people with 2 cars put the spare for one in the other car. Service magazines report that if you park them together in the garage, they will drain the battery because the fobs keep them active.

Probably I'm just a fuddy duddy but I'm not sure why people think that the PB start is so cool. I can see it for the cops who might like to be able to hop into their cars and take off. Maybe something like that.

Thanks guys and yes I agree 100%. In fact I hate all this new crap no there is nothing appealing about it. I'm glad my 2015 has a key, no direct injection, no auto start and stop, and no cylinder deactivation.
i also like manual hubs and a real lever for the transfer case too

I remember test driving a truck at a dealership that had been remote started and when I got in it it was running but it wouldn't let me put it in gear or anything

push button start is for people that are too stupid to figure out how to turn a key.
