08 6.4l power locks question

08 6.4l power locks question
I've got a factory Ford command start in my truck and if I use the command start it will automatically lock the truck which is a nice option. Now the problem comes when I start the truck with the key and then want to leave it run and walk away, the damn doors will not lock. Anyone have any idea how to make the doors lock and stay locked while the truck is running?? I have tried doing it with the remote and manually and neither works, they lock for 2 seconds and then unlock. I also have the remote keypad and have not tried that but that would be a pain in the *** if I had to use that every time. There must be some secret I am missing because I sure don't want to leave the truck running with the doors unlocked and risk having someone drive away with it,
