Yesterday I was at my local dealers putting together a order for a 2019 I am considering. Every time the sales manager added the upfitter switch option it required the upgraded alternator for another $85.
Anyone else run into this? It didnt happen when I built the same truck on Fords web site.
There’re some option choices that require an alternator upgrade. See page 10 in the 2019 Order Guide.
I went through this when we ordered our 2019 F350, but I wanted the XXHD alternator anyway. The XXHD alternator and the Up/Sws are separately priced options on our order form and on the window sticker.
I got the upfitter switches and did not need the bigger alternator in my gasser.
The build & price site allows building without the prerequisite.
The dealer put my order together without mentioning it.
Maybe it's different on diesel?

Only the 6.2 requires the alternator upgrade. The 6.7 already has 2 alternators and is enough to run the max upfitter capacity .
