Headlights switching backwords

So my headlights have been acting up lately. First, low beams just stopped working no matter what you did. Everything looked okay, but i was going to get new lamps just to be sure. Before i was able to, they started working again. I was talking with a mechanic about it and he said that my headlight switch was probably going out. Figured that was an easy thing to change and even though they were working again, they could stop at any time. So i replaced it. When i was testing it out, the low beams would not come on when on auto or manual on, but come on when the switch is off or parking lights. High beams and fog lights work fine. I changed back to the old switch and it is the same. I put the new one back in and still the same. What would cause it to switch backwards like that? From what i can tell you cannot plug the switch in backwards.

Check wiring harness routing above Turbo. Sometimes and wires get hot . Or they get raw do to rubbing . Had that problem with my low beams and throwing fusses .
