ABS LIGHT ASSISTANCE

ABS light stays on after changing the speed sensor on my 96 Eddie Bauer. I disconnected the battery and reconnected but the light keeps coming on.

Changing the speed sensor made a marked improvement in the transmission - 317,183 miles on the odometer!

How can I get a diagnostic code for this problem?
