The problem with these shells is the alloy mix in the sheet metal. I don't know what kind of inferior aluminum they are using but it's very low quality. They also are not hard anodizing these. I bought one about 3 years ago and had to have it bead blasted then I had it hard anodized and that wasn't cheap or easy to find a company that had the ability to do such a large part. I should have just plunked the 1500 down for a NOS one. That's what it cost me in the end and a ton of wasted time.

The LMC grilles are made by AMD. the fit and finish is impressive on the one I looked at. and since it's steel it's much tougher than even the original. however it has a few minor differences in the lines and since it's chromed it's very shiny.
If I wasn't trying to retain as original of a look as I could I would already have one ordered. at $540 with free shipping from Summit it's very tempting.

I have an once chrome steal one. It fit well. Had a few things that didn't line up but aren't noticeable except to me. I will tell you they rust easily. Gonna have to do something to mine because it's rusting behind the bumper.
