A note on that 57-59 early style DUAL ADVANCE DIST. The upper plate rides on ball bearings instead of having the plates hinged on a pivot bushing (59/ ). Those ***** get gummed up/out of round. If you take the plate off and clean your ***** ... sheesh ... it should start to function correctly. Bad bushings/breaker plates lead to dwell variance and spark scatter which is probably what you are seeing with the timing light.




Also, quality POINTS-CONDENSOR which are still available from MOTORCRAFT.
