Hitch light on tailgate

My 2018 SD tailgate doesn't have the hitch light on it. I thought they were all missing it until I saw one with it most recently.

What package was this included with?

It came on my 2019 F250 Lariat. It doesn't have the max tow package so I don't know if t's just because it's a Larat as opposed to the 2017 F250 XLT I had that didn't have the light.

I’m pretty sure this light comes with the ultimate trailer tow package. They’re was a thread on here a while ago where guys were just buying the plastic piece the holds the lamp and installing it. Hopefully someone will chime in with a link to that thread.

My understanding is the the trailer hookup lamp is standard equipment on the Lariat and higher trims. On the XL and XLT, it’s included with the optional Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System.

Lariat and higher.
I have the Ultimate Lariat package but I do not have the Ultimate Trailer Tow package.

Love all of the LEDs in the bed and on the tail gate.
Being able to hit that button in the bed.
Best option in years!!!!!!!!

I can confirm that my XL / STX with ultimate tow camera system has the LED tailgate light. Surprisingly bright for a dime sized light.

Ours turns on when the doors are unlocked, when a door is opened, or when the cargo bed lights are switched on.
