I send you & wife my condolences. That is unfortunate.
There R so many options for shafts. Matchin upper to lower, the correct one. I've had a hex (I think) original in the '70, solid end to end. Then 2 different upper/lower (makes 5 combos) swap outs when takin the i6 frm manual to power. I had help, never paid attention enuff 2 offer U ideas. When outta my league I go to online prts catalogues & look at what they have. Sometimes I can match up stuff by eye, get it for less (all ways a need as this is an extremely low budget operation) elsewhere. But at least I know what something I never seen elsewhere can wrk/looks like. Then again, a tel call to the supplier w/a pic can also clear up some ID issues. HTH, sorry for your loss, not a good time of yr for these things, if ever there is...
Yeah. Think I may just order one from TBP. Maybe even a pump bracket. I built a Diff Skid Pad for my D30 this last weekend. Told my son-in-law i do not know if i really saved any money putting several hours into the build. Could have bought it for 85$. But i like to fab and had metal laying around. Why not play with your tools then...
I like Tom's. Just got their Advance Adapter's NV3550 kit.
Spread de lub, mahn (BCB, Jeff's, WH, etc - I just don't like Bronco Haven or Hut, Castle Rock, CO).
Jeff's BGyrd sent me a 1/2 cab top in '83 (w/bulkhead) for $250 (all the way to MA). Wuz it a decade later they developed CB, online...THE bronk on-line site.
How thick is the rock blocker U made? Copy or inovate?
Rock guard i built was all free hand. Used 3/16 with loops and gussets . Boxed in with flat parts but left open the bottom between gussets so i could get the lower 3 bolts in. Got me excited so roughed out the 9 “ slider plate today. Once again, is my time cheaper than buying one for like 55$ and shipping. But i do like to do things like this. Pretty much retired so why not get down and up couple of hundred times while you check your fitment( don’t have a lift but do have a nice shop) good workout for a 65 yr old.
some R easier than others.
C it there's a thread in the Index that provides instructions. I have enuff trouble w/a stick, coordinating the correct power & thickness of the steel....ahahahahahaaaahaheho
Well, I took the easy but expensive way out. Got the kit from Wild Horses. All went together as planned but had to raise the Allstar radiator up 1/2 inch to clear gear box . Have the p/brake kit in today also. At least that was a free grift to me. Even though i had to go get another Corvette master C. Took 4 trips to parts store to find a belt that would work and let me clear the expansion tank with the p/s cap. Ready to wheel this weekend ( I think).
