Does anybody know how I can update the maps in my Nav system? Several of the roads around where I live are not in the gps so when I take one, it seems to get confused and gets really lost for a couple days. It will show me 20 miles away from where I actually am and seems to just make up what direction I'm going.
It would help if you explicitly identified what you have vehicle-wise and what version software and map your system has.
Otherwise, just take it to your Ford dealer and pay them to do it for you.
truck is in signature. 2011 F-150 fx4. Best I can tell it is originally installed software. At least that's what the mysync website says. I don't know how to find out what version of the maps I have. If I did, I probably wouldn't be relying on strangers all over the interweb to help me would I?

Your signature does not show up, apparently to more than just me.
For my 2011 F350, the navigation updates are purchased via a cd/dvd. Can’t do it online. The company that does the updates sends out a letter each January or so. Cost is about $149. I’ve only updated it once - last year.
