my wifes 2014 exploder limited with the sony , nav system, everytime she takes a call on bluetooth on her Iphone 6 the system shuts down, goes black and then goes into a system reboot/system update.
Any thoughts? system will also lock up and do the reboot thing on its own w/o a phone call.
Brought it back to the dealer once and their answer was "it is a microsoft system, they don't put their efforts into Iphone integration"

We bought our 2014 Explorer Sport 2 years ago and immediately started having similar problems with not only the phone but nav and the radio would die as well. Second day we had it all went out and took it to the dealer. They had one in there, same vehicle as ours, they were trying to diagnose. Long story short, the problem is/was intermitent and is normaly fixed by turning off the vehicle and then turning it back on. Wouldn't ever do it at the dealer. Everytime we took it in they would turn off the motor and then when they turned it on again, no problem. We did however get a letter from Ford some months later giving us an extended warranty on the chips that control this. So for two years now have been waiting for it to quit for good so we can get it repaired. Dealer won't fix it if it isnt broken and it doesn't seem to want to crap out when we're in town. But check to see if nav and your radio quit at the same time. Dealers are well aware of this problem. Let me know if you need a copy of the letter and are having similar problems.
ours does same all shuts down...i did a hard reset over the weekend, has not shut down yet but EVERYTIME she gets a call the call shows up on the screen but when she answers she can't hear anybody until she put the call on speaker on her phone then she she can put through the uconnect

yes, my software is up to date...but the problem continues
When SYNC downloads the phonebook, the system may reboot itself or cause issues if there are contacts with emojis. Have your wife remove the emoji and see if that helps. Keep me posted.
