My truck sits most of the time but I’m off this week and was going to take a load to the dump and get my truck inspected. Sure enough tried the wipers and no go. Nothing on low or high. No washer fluid either. Tried looking for a fuse and it looks like it doesn’t have one for the wipers. Ugggggg. So switch? Any ideas before I go spend cash? Is there a way to check my old switch before I buy a new one?
Checked for voltages at where instructed and got power to the switch, at the motor and at the washer fluid pump. Now, here is the catch. I was only getting 0.02 volts. I checked a double A battery and it shows 1.4v so I know my multimeter is good.
Im thinking I have a power issue upstream of the switch.
Also, I don’t have intermittent wipers. Only low and high.
Thoughts?
If you only have .02 volts, then you don't actually have power to the wipers. Need to trace it back to power source.
You said you didn't have any wipers, now you have HI/LO, but no intermit? What changed?
My statement wasn’t clear. I meant my truck doesn’t have internment wipers as an option. My wiper switch has off, low and high as settings. I hope that clears that up.
Right now, nothing works. Since I can see voltage come and go with the activation of the switch but I’m only getting very low voltage at the pump, motor and switch, then it is an issue upstream.
Im currently trying to figure out how power gets to the switch.
