My severe service maintenance plan does contain the transmission, coolant tank changes(there are two) two diffs and transfer cases. I have an 8 year 200,000 km(125k mile) severe service package. I have done a spreadsheet up and at 80,000 Km, just past the last service and in Cdn dollars, accounting for every item at retail cost, I am already past break even. My last truck didn’t need brakes until 172,000 km, but I’m quite sure this will work out completely positively. Spreadsheets don’t lie, when you break it down to the detail, it all adds up.
@mhoefer I'd be curious to see your spreadsheet. When you get the maintenance plan quote, does it actually spell out what will be done at each of the scheduled services? Flood Ford has a 8year, 100K mi, 20 service visit plan for $2385. According to my owners manual service intervals for trailer towing, engine oil and filter every 5K mi (20 times during plan), brake fluid every 3 years (2X), cabin air filter every 20K mi (5X), engine air filter 30K mi (3X), sparkplugs 60K mi (1X), Rotate tires every 5K (20X), Transfer case fluid 60K mi (1X), Rear axle 30K mi - listed as an exception WOT at 70° or above (3X unless Ford factory fills with synthetic then it's not covered until 150K miles).
Transmission fluid is at 150K mi (0X), Belts are at 150K miles (0X), Front wheel bearings are at 150K mi (0X), Coolant change 200K (0X).
Does anyone see anything I missed for gas engines? I'm not trying to be an ***, I am really trying to decide if the maintenance plan is worth it.
