there was a loud knock when I would turn my wheel all the way to right side. Had a friend turn wheel while I was under truck and could not see anything moving or jumping when the knock came. He looked as well. The knock just went away for a day. Now I’m noticing it at several different times while turning the wheel, just not as loud or hard. All tie rods are just over a month old. Any ideas on what this could be or what and how I should check something? Thank, guys
Ball joints, shock, sway bar, leaf spring squeak pads, pitman arm, tract bar
I first noticed it when pulling out of garage after having sway bar links replaced. Coincidence or potential problem? How would I check to se if it’s sway bar?
Did you have ford end links, moog, or some cheap knock offs Installed? The bolts should be torque to 85ftlbs and the sway bar to axle nuts are 35ftlbs
I installed energy suspension bushings in my factory links years ago and never had a problem since
i have moog parts. I looked again today and still can’t find the issue. It does it when the wheel is being turned truck is parked and not moving at all. I can’t see how there can be noises coming from sway bar, shocks or even the leaf springs when none of that stuff is being moved when I turn the wheel while truck is parked.
Ok so it looks like it's a track bar issue. Either the bolts are loose (factory spec is like 500ftlbs) or the bushings are bad, or the bottom mount on the passenger side axle tube is cracked at the weld joints

my buddy used an stethoscope under the truck while I was turning the wheel. He said it sounded as if it was coming from track bar. It’s a Moog tract bar and only about 3 months old, less than 1000 miles on it, so I thought there’s no way it was the track bar or bushings. The torque spec sheet for my truck says 406lbs of torque. My torque wrench definitely doesn’t go to 406lbs. After checking to see if the bottom mount is not cracked at the weld, do you have any suggestions on how to make sure it’s tight enough? Thanks, man
