Apple Car Play Google Maps
I just received an update to Google Maps on my iPhone - now it shows up in Sync 3 when I plug in my phone and run Car Play! Street map or satellite view.. Very nice!

Great news. I read today that IOS12 would provide Google Maps via Car Play. I thought it required an update on sync too but I guess not. Can’t wait to try it, hopping it is better than the Waze experience through Sync.

True, but you can download maps to your device if you have enough storage. I have 2 maps for my state, they take up about 450MB. I have unlimited data, but I like having them in case I'm in an area with bad reception.

Great idea! I see myself using CarPlay much more often now that Google Maps is available, and having the offline maps downloaded makes perfect sense. I searched, because I was unfamiliar with how it worked, and Google states it will use automatically switch to the offline maps if signal is lost. I noticed that the offline maps automatically update roughly every 30 days as well, so there is no risk of having outdated information stored. Man, I love this truck more and more with these updates and Forscan.
