I upgraded my iPhone to ios12 but didn't upgrade my Sync from 2.3 to 3.0. Google maps came up on my Sync screen. Very happy I didn't have to upgrade Sync until they get the bugs worked out.
How do you tell if a cable is certified? My OEM cable stopped working a year or so ago, so I stopped at the first store I saw (Walgreens or CVS) and grabbed one at the counter because I liked the color (green). It works flawlessly in my F350.
The green USB cables that you grabbed at Walgreens & CVS, I guess you needed a spare, might work but that doesn`t mean that they`re certified Apple approved cables. If said cables that you purchased are "certified" then i`d say great and i`m glad they`re working well for you. It is well known that many USB problems can be traced to cheap USB cables.
You can go on the Apple website and learn about the "MFi" certification for their cables plus the website also shows what to look for and how to detect counterfeit and uncertified cables.
Samsung also has a certification for their USB cables.

Have a great day.
Cool, thanks. I'll keep using this one until it breaks or stops working, then I'll give it to the kids for a charging cable and go find something certified.
