85 windsor ballast resistor problem
parts store sez this part (ballast resistor) is no longer avialiable, engine is duraspark, with carb. is there another resistor like the ceramic one dodge used I could go with. also what is the correct ohms resistence for this stock coil. I"ll hit the junkyard but I"d rather get a new one

In 85 they did not have a "resistor" they had a resistance wire. A special wire made into the harness. You did not say what the problem is and why you need this resistor, usually it's because of a retro fit into another vehicle. The factory resistance wire rarely gives any problems. The resistance spec is 1.05 to 1.15 ohms. I have recommended Chrysler resistors before, and people have had good results with those. Chrysler used the ceramic resistor more often than the resistance wire. Advance Auto has a ceramic resistor part number RU4 made by BWD. The spec on it is .75 to 1.5 ohms. As long as you are in the ballpark it should work ok.
