Decked storage system

im looking at adding some storage to my truck and keep getting drawn back to the decked system. I’m not having much luck finding any reviews online and hoping someone here has either used it or knows someone that has and would be willing to share their experience. I have an 8ft bed so there will be space by the cab to be filled by another tool box. Opinions, thoughts, other ideas that don’t cost an arm and a leg?

Just installed mine this week in a short box. Got it 20% off with zoro coupon. Install was easy enough. Have one drawer of recover gear including hilift. Other drawer is mainly hunting and a dbox with tools.
You cannot push a dbox into the very back of the drawer. Nor can you reach that far so you have to plan what goes back there. Fit is good.

I have an ARE mid height topper coming this week with windoors. The drawers are tall so you dont have much bed height left for stuff. If i wasnt getting a topper that might bother me.

I unfortunately paid full price for mine.. I agree the install was easy, would have been easier if everything was labeled like the manual asked for. My plan is similar to yours now that i have it, one drawer full of tools and recovery gear and the other with be my hunting gear. I dont have a Dbox yet but plan on picking up 2 i think when i can. I have a mid height ARE topper, I plan on having the decked system and shell on the truck at the same time(Fall-Early spring) so I’m not terribly concerned wth some lost height.
I guess ill leave a review here after the last hunting and trapping season closes on how it worked for me if anyone is interested.

Just finished 2 weekends of pheasant hunting and oh boy I love everything about the setup. Next tweaks/upgrades:
- Seal rear tailgate, dust lots of it and nowhere to go but in
- Swap about tool dbox for crossbox, dbox is just too big for tools and gets heavy fast
- Figure out how to seal up gaps that could make stuff disappear (between decked surface and bed sizes, infront of rear ammo cans had a few small things slide in their this weekend)
- Dealer screwed me on lighting. They said i could run 3 prop switches for lights, then changed their mind and said I could only use 1 unless I get 2 more light sets. So either I need 2 more lights or a different person to wire the prop switches
- Charging holder, I got the 3 12v outlet charging station but i could use a bucket or something to hold items I am charging
- Dual battery setup, something about all the new lights/charging stations has me worried

A tool box/ tote that is designed to fit inside of the decked drawer, the crossover box is a smaller version of it, half size approximately. Even though many people say the d box is heavy when full Id have a hard time paying almost the same price for half of something. The d box is $50, the crossover is $40 even though it’s basically half the size

I seem to remember looking at the Decked system, and decided against it because it was too short for the F-250 short bed...as-in it’s made for 6’6” bed instead of 6’8”. Seems trivial at first I know, but those few inches can come in handy when trying to squeeze a golf cart or 4 wheeler on top. Also, I was wondering if the gap between the drawer and tailgate might allow someone to pilfer in the very front of the drawers? (I assume a closed and locked tailgate is the security mechanism.) If anyone has updates on these questions...it’s appreciated. (I can’t justify spending that kind of money in a “custom” storage system that isn’t customized for my bed size.)

NDE - I’ll try to get a pic before too long, i dont have much just the system in the bed wit ha camper shell at the moment and some gear
Marcusu- While I haven’t tried it I dont think it would even be possible to operate the drawer handle to open the slide, let alone get to anything in it with the tailgate shut. They sell a lock system for the drawers themselves if that is something that is needed. I fully understand not wanting to spend that kind of money on a system that isn’t designed for your specific bed, i would have loved to have gotten one that fills my long bed or even one that had normal drawers with a storage compartment at the bulkhead of the bed. But compared to truckvault or most if not all of the bed slide systems I think it’s still a moderately prices system for what it is.
