Thanks for the reply, since reading the thread and commenting I've ordered a digital inclinometer this morning so I'm headed down that path. Hopefully thats it. I do not have a cv, just two joints on mine. When i redid the u joints this weekend i had one that i really struggled to get the clips on and still be able to move the joint, I got it pretty good but the other end seems to be too floppy in contrast, I'm probably going backwards.
btw my point in replying originally was for the OP to share that my problem came when I did the spring swap, so be aware of that having its own potential to introduce problems rather than be a guaranteed fix. Whether I did something wrong or not I'm not sure at the moment, but since everything is fixed with the perch and the pin in the springs and all that, I immediately wondered if I'd mishandled the driveling while pushing things around. Hopefully since the u joints don't seem to be the problem its the angle, getting into anything past either end of the shaft (trans/diff) may just not be something this old beast can expect me to provide. We are likely done with the vehicle in the next year or so, shame but just the reality of things.
Angle of trans and diff joints appears dead on, new u joins make it different but still vibrating, just sold the travel trailer tonight, may be time to make someone a deal who has the energy to sort it out or part it out.... thanks for the help, good luck OP

care to share your front and rear ride height as measured from the hub to bottom of fender arch and your drive line angles ?
It has the roadmaster suspension helpers on it, with the mod-b, had the vibration both ways with and without the roadmaster. I measure ~27" from center hub to fender lip, and the angle seems to be about 7 degrees, seems like a lot but its consistent from trans to diff. The little angle finder i got you can zero it out, and when i zero it out on one it shows zero on the other, kinda amazing really.
I still have a strong suspicion I've torqued something when i was doing the spring swap and had the diff tilting all weird on the jack. I had to really pull it with a strap to get it back in place for the spring pin to set in its spot also.
Took it to a shop, got a call "what noise?", got a ride back down there and took a tech for a ride and now it barely has the vibration... They inspected it I don't think they did anything to it, they didn't charge me ( i tried to pay something but the refused ). sigh
If one of your cylinders isn't firing completely at that speed it can cause vibration. Mine did above 50 mph but after spark plugs, one injector, and two coil packs it runs smooth again. In other words you might just need a tune-up, especially if all of a sudden the problem has disappeared. Maybe you had a clogged injector that spit out the crap and is now happy.
