Dear 73-79 Gurus-I have a 73 F-250 Explorer/ Trailer Special, 390 V8, C-6 Auto trans long bed pickup that has a paint code of YM. I am thinking of restoring this to original condition. I have owned the truck since it was new and it has been through alot but it is in great shape. I just did some minor body work on it, thinking of painting it and I think I have all of the things I need mapped out as to where to acquire the parts. But the interior is another story. I have searched the internet for original seat covers and plastic interior door covers and cannot find anything in this color scheme. The door plastic of course can be painted but I was wondering if anyone has info on a source for either new old stock seat covers and door plastic, or someone that is reproducing this for the Burnt orange paint scheme. See attachments for pictures of original. Thanks in advance for your help.
If you can't find brown door panels check out dennis carpenter for "seconds" and paint them with SEM paint. Do a internet search for SEM paint and I think you'll find a good color match.
You can probably fill the screw holes and rebuild the mounting tabs on your originals, and then just paint them - or if you're really good, just paint the filled holes.
tndallas, thank you for your reply I will check out those vendors, LMC truck has some but none in the burnt orange color, I will probably have to paint. Excuse me for maybe doing things wrong on this site I am still learning my way around it and this is a first for me.
