Production Code on VIN plate meaning

What does the "Production Code" mean on my VIN plate? I'm researching my '54 flatbed and can't finf that info....

Nice truck!

As far as I know, no one knows what the production codes mean. Ford's production records for the postwar era were lost in a fire in the Main Office in the early 60's.

I thought it was the build date.... The month was G which would be July and therefore July 30, 1954.

I'll have to check my books.

Abe, I think you're confusing firewall stampings with Production Codes. OP's code is pretty simple compared to most, this is mine for example

As far as I know 53 to 56 trucks did not have firewall stampings. Here is a pic of my data plate.

19-H would mean it was built on august 19th.
