remote mount turbo

anybody have a remote mounted setup on a 240/300? i was thinking of either putting it in the bed or right off of the long tube headers under the cab.

thats a really nice setup, just dont like the idea of going all the way to the back. how much power are you making and how many lbs of boost?

Yup, that's the one!

There is another epic thread, but the truck went down the road long ago, never a particularly successful installation. This one is pretty darn good.

It gives you options. It also removes a lot of heat, that would be in the engine compartment, else where.

With the remote mount set up you want to do your best to keep as much of the heat in the exhaust system as possible. So that means ceramic coating the system or header wrapping it.

It also requires a scavaging pump to return the oil to the engine.

And a side benefit of the remote mount turbos is. The longer tubing run from the compressor housing to the engine or intercooler acts a little like a intercooler. So you can get a little temp drop from it.
