Still Having E4OD Problems
My transmission is not shifting correctly after the swap. The original thread is

I swapped in a E4OD in place of a 4R70W. Originally truck was a 1995 RWD and new trans is a 1993 4x4. I used a HOG0 computer and the trans harness from the 1993 donor truck. The transmission harness from the 93 would not plug up to the 1995 without modification. The trans harness has 2 plugs. The big plug was the same on both harnesses but the small plug was different. With only the big plug connected the trans was in limp mode. Because I am NOT an electrical genius and because I was desperate I spliced in the small plug from the 1995 into the 1993 trans harness matching the wire colors. The only problem was The 1995 had 2 more wires than the 1993 so I just didn't connect those. I took the truck for a drive and all seemed to be well, all gears worked. After some more driving I now realize all is not well. All gears function on upshifts and downshifts but I am having some weird issues. It seems that with the O/D on the truck wont shift down into low, or maybe the torque converter is staying locked? I'm not sure which. With O/D light off the truck takes off in low but upshifts are hard and it feels like the truck bogs after an upshift. This seems to me like a TC issue but the truck will idle in gear with my foot on the brake so I know the TC isn't locked at that time. If I cant figure this out I am going to do the manually switched torque converter mod and see if that helps.
