Sorry for taking so long to reply. Turns out my trusty crusty battery was just toast. Took the brand new battery out of my work truck, threw it in my real truck, and everything tested perfect. Fired up better than ever, and no drains or shorts that I could find. (I slapped myself for you for having a worn out parking brake )

The Parking Brake is just a mechanical way (cables) of actuating the rear brakes, I'd investigate & fix that since a brake problem in a heavy truck is never a good thing.
