Brake controller kit

06 F250 Diesel 2wd, The available new Brake Controller Kits at Ford come with master cylinder. Why would I need a master cylinder? The Ford salesman could not tell me. Thanks for your advice.

It uses the master cyl to tell the TBC when to function. Don't bother with it...keep what you have and get a P3 : Tekonsha! I just installed mine to REPLACE the Ford version. MUCH cheaper than converting to factory. Check Amazon pricing.

The Ford controller (with master cylinder) is an awesome TBC, because you get actual brake pressure to your trailer rather than an algorithm based on tow vehicle deceleration. I used one on a 2011 f150 pulling up to 10,000 pounds, it gave extremely smooth and precise braking compared to the pendulum style controllers

I would be willing to bet in a blindfold test folks would not be able to tell the action of a P3 from the Integrated Controller. Yes the ITC is miles ahead of the old pendulum controllers, but so is the P3.
