I have an 06 F-250 4x4 and wanted to install the factory (Tow Command)Trailer Brake Controller. The truck seems to be pre wired already, but the only kit I find is the 5C3Z-19H332-AA which has a new Master Cylinder with it, and states that it's for an 05 Truck. Do I have to change the Master Cylinder with the installation of the brake controller, or is there an easier way on the 06??
I would love to just plug the controller in the dash and be done:-)
Thanks.............Rick
I do know from my owner's manual that the controller supposedly provides more current and hence more braking to the trailer, based on an increase in pressure on the brake pedal. The controller has to pick up this varying pedal pressure somewhere, and the master cylinder does sound reasonable.....
Seems like I've also heard that the integrated brake controller is a factory option, not an add on, so maybe that's their way of saying "... bring money.."!
You need a new master cylinder and you must have the dealer re-program the computer so it will recognize the brake controller and allow it to operate properly.

Also make sure you get the correct kit, there are two different part numbers depending on wether or not you have a gas or diesel engine. The kits are not interchangeable. The part number you have listed is for a gas motor.
