While attending the Puget Sound Antique Tractor and Machinery Show in Lynden, WA this past week, I observed a Jailbar Woody (there can only be one in this part of the world) and I spotted a very industrious man tending to several hit-and-miss engines that were running perfectly. I introduced myself to Gary Sisson who is a neighbor (as the seagull flies across Rosario Strait and Padilla Bay). He proudly showed a friend and me the impressive work he had done on his famous project. The workmanship in the woodworking was impressive. As you can see from the attached photo (Gary is the handsome one on the right)
, I requested that he raise the hood to prove that there was no SBC hidden in there. It was classic flathead Ford.
As we talked, I learned that Mr. Sisson had the dubious misfortune of attending school with my former wife. Apparently, he survived the association better than I did.
In all seriousness, I enjoyed my meeting with Gary and continue being impressed by how much he has done in our hobby and how much he has contributed to the efforts of others.

I Thank you for your highly complimentary post. I can't figure out where to type my response on the new format. It was great to meet you at the show. I had some overheating issues on the way home, but am working on that now. The woodie enjoyed speeding along on the vast mainland and did 66 mph for a stretch on the way there. I slept in the back for 4 nights and was quite comfortable as long as it was preceded with a couple of drinks!
I'm glad there was only one.... I hate posing so it looks like I'm holding my breath. In reality I was holding my gut in..... That show has always been my relief from the interior decorators and architects I work for. 4 days long and I haven't missed it in 31 years. No yuppies, no stand up paddle boards, no tree huggers, I am still decompressing on the left side of the left coast, and waiting for next year.
An unknown person took this video a few years back and I later came across it on youtube. It's my stover gas engine. The engine was missing parts (like it's head) so I got it for free and made a head and made it go. That was in the 80s.
