My Dad is about as Blue Oval as it gets. My interest comes directly from him. He recently learned we were going to get a rare visit at our airport from a Ford Tri-Motor airplane. Very few of these planes were built over a seven year period (1926-33) and only a handful exist today in air-worthy condition. This is kind of a bucket list thing for my Dad so he gets to talking to some of those behind this visit and arranges to take his Model T's (1914 Speedster & 1927 Touring) out to the airport to meet the plane and for a photo op. So I'm talking to Dad about this tonight and he tells me he's arranged for my son and I to take a ride in this flying history museum on Sunday! Needless to say I'm a bit excited...
What a fantastic opportunity! That should be a great experience, once in a lifetime. Have fun and don't forget to take pictures and post them. Those look like a couple of great cars too.
That's a great picture and what a thrill for a three generation ride. I've seen the plane at the Oshkosh, WI, airshow, but haven't been up for a ride. Have fun.
If the Tri-Motor Flys about the same in life as it does in the simulator I ain't sure I would want to get on board. Empty with a full load of fuel it can hardly get air borne.
Ya I am jealous also. What a month to remember for you.
