I am needing to replace my return line on my 1996 F150 4.9L. It is a 2WD model.
The line I removed from the truck looks nothing like what RockAuto shows. Mine has a very short metal fitting and then it has a crimped 3/8" rubber hose.
RA shows me two options:
1) W/O Trailer Tow Package
2) W/ Trailer Tow Package
When I pulled up the Ford parts diagram on the tascaparts.com site, it shows two options as well, but lists them as 2WD (F4TZ3A713B) and 4WD (F4TZ3A713H).
So does RockAuto's "w/o trailer tow package" mean that it fits the 2WD truck? And, how on earth does that massive tubing loop mount under the hood?
I can tell you my '96 4x4 uses the return line with the big loop. That actually snakes down from the PS pump to the engine crossmember. They do it like that to help cool the fluid while your driving.
