I recently picked up a winch bumper for my 78 f250. I don't know if it is a warn or not but looks just like one. What I need to know is how the mounting brackets are setup on these because this one is missing them. Any pictures would be helpful, thanks!
I don’t think it is a Warn, unless it’s older. I recently put a Warn (or part of one) on my F350, and it was bolted together (~5 pieces). I just drilled out some 1/2” plate and bolted the center winch part to my front spring hangers.
I looked, but unfortunately, I don’t have any pics. I made my centersection out of 5/8” plate I had lying around, so it was the same width as my frame. The brackets were just 4”x8” squares of 1/2” plate with 5 holes drilled in each one to bolt centersection to frame spring hangers using the factory holes. I just used the Warn “wings” (cut down).
Time to get to fabbing some brackets, no big heavy metal cutting or welding abilities? Make some patterns out of cardboard, that make the brackets bolt to your bumper and bolt to your truck frame, and take to a local welding shop or Vo Tech and have them knock it out. Here is what he means about using the front leaf spring hdwr to mount it. Of course this push bar works with a OEM bumper.

Yep a buddy of mine said he'd help me out with making up the brackets. I'll have to start making templates of this for him. My concern is that the outside of the frame rails where the brackets would mount is wider than the heavier duty part of the bumper "winch plate". So how would I get a bracket in to meet inward to mount to the sturdier part of the bumper, square tubing?
I didn’t see it at first, but I think it is a Warn. The bumper I used for parts was just like that. I would make flat brackets that bolted to the bumper, then flat brackets that bolted to front spring hangers, then see if square tubing or something could be used to weld those two brackets together with the correct spacing
My shackles have been extended but the one big one is in the old location of the springs through bolt and the top bolts are the shackle brackets inner 2 bolts.
