Have i mounted something wrong, nothing happens when I put it in gear it's a c4 gearbox. I have bought the engine and gearbox and do not know anything about them. The gear box was emptied of oil and finely plugget. can I check the oil pressure in the gearbox or otherwise indicate the problem, or may I have mounted the converter incorrectly.

i forgot to tell that i feel that somthing is out of balance
Was this ever working? Does the motor start? Are the torque converter and flex plate mounted together correctly? When you say c4 gearbox, is it out of a Corvette?
I don't know if it's from a corvette Yes the engine is running, and the 5 or 6 bolts is mountet in the flex plate can i mount it incorrectly..? but when I bought it even the pan was empty for oil
More info please, what year/ make motor, trans? Did you fill the torque converter with fluid before you installed it? Trans, got fluid? Can't see where you could have mounted it incorrectly they go on one way, just make sure the converter is seated to the transmission pump before you tighten it to the flex plate.
C4 I am guessing Ford C4 auto trany.
If the C4 was shipped with no oil / ATF it can take a lot of fluid, how much did you pour into it.
Once the motor is started and the pump starts pumping fluid thru out the trany you will need to check (with motor running) and add more ATF to get it safe level.
Let us know what you find.
Dave ----
you put about a quart or so of trans fluid in the converters input shaft, then install the converter to the trans once the splines line up push and turn the converter till it seats with the pump.
in your case, just make sure you ad trans fluid to the proper level before putting it gear, no need to tear it apart, the converter will fill as you ad the fluid.
It was a stupid mistake, it was like you Said Dave,i have filled it up so it was over the line at idle, but it would have much more after having been a trip around the gear .
thanks for your help
