And I quit

So finally finished the u joints, ball joints, and bearings. Replaced the spark plugs, air filter, coil packs, and oil.

Test driving the car to work. Checking the mileage to see if I can get above 7.

And smell burning fluid. In the parking lot at work I climb under the truck. Beautiful red fluid dripping off the transmission lines into the exhaust...

Off the trans lines or from the bell housing area?

remember, this is on on my back under a hot truck in the parking lot exam

The fluid was coming off one of the trans lines in the middle of it. I replaced the rusty lines a few years ago. Looked like it was coming from the front, running down the line and dripping at the low point of the trans line. I could see where it attached in the rear and it was dry but not the front.

Check where the new steel line meets the factory rubber hose going to/coming from the trans cooler, if you recently replaced the hard lines a clamp may have broken or slipped on the rubber to steel line joint.

The lines I replaced 3,years ago rusted out again.

Dang duralast parts. OEM lasted 10-11 years. Auto zone, 3-4.

And if I remember right, I loose most of the transmission fluid when changing these

Just replaced both of those lines a few months ago on mine. Had to put a quart and a half back in after. So you don't have much to worry about.

Duralast. Less "last", more "dur"
