I'm looking for idea's on the brand of back up camera for our new fury toy hauler.
What did you buy, why and how was the install? I,ve just started looking and i think
i would need a 2 piece cord set from the rv to the truck, most of them look like a
single 65 ft cord.
I bought my system through Costco which is manufactured by Rear View Safety. The model number is RVS-770613-213. It has a long cable from the back of my trailer to a plug mounted on the tongue. That connects via a coiled cable to another plug mounted under my bumper. The 7" monitor is mounted to the dash and is removable. The install was pretty basic and the system works great.
I installed a Furrion Observation Camera so it is on all the time.
Tied it into the center marker light on top and it is wireless, so no cable to deal with.

Griz
How is the reception and image quality? I had a wireless one on the back of my prior pickup truck and it was OK. The neighbor's baby monitor had a stronger signal though.

I think it is pretty good. TT is 35" long behind a crew cab F-250. Picture holds up pretty good even running 70 down the highway.
They have an extension cable if it is weak. Still wireless from extension to monitor though.
I have the wireless Furrion Observation camera. My trailer came prewired and install was easy. It does constantly cutout/ lose signal at anything above 55mph though, so the “observation” part is pretty much useless. If you check the Amazon reviews, you will see that I’m not alone. My trailer is 30ft bumper to coupler and the truck is a Crew Cab long bed F350.
I don't have a pic of it installed, but I put it just above the center maker light.
I removed the center marker fixture so I could see the wiring and determine sizing.
Once I knew the mounting position, I drilled into the wall and fished out the wiring with a piece of wire.
Wired, mounted, and sealed it all up.
One suggestion I followed was swapping all my bulbs to LED as some people had experienced a voltage drop causing less than perfect results. Small wiring has it's limitations.
Mine holds up on the pic to 70-75 pretty well. It will occasionally drop off, but comes on pretty quickly again. Never an issue running 65.
