Footprint dimensions taken from their respective websites:

The B&W Companion is 30.5" x 36"
The Andersen rail version is 24" x 24"
The Andersen goose neck version is 31.5" X 35.5"
Reese mounting adapter is 30" x 22"

Looking at these dimensions, it appears that there is basically no difference in the foot print between the Companion and the largest Andersen

If the OP uses his current rail version with the Reese adapter, he will have a smaller footprint than if he used a Companion.
