Anybody have the Gen-y hitch? Can I use my existing 2” weight distribution hitch in the drop portion of the Gen-y or do I have to buy their weight distribution hitch?
I think the new f350s have a higher hitch than my ‘03 so I’m gonna have to drop the hitch down to keep the trailer level.
Sorry, not familiar with the Gen-y hitches. However, it's been my experience that sub assemblies from different manufacturers don't really go together very well.
About the best you can do is take very careful measurements comparing the new and the old parts. If they match in every detail you should be good.
Hey cdnfireman. Just noticed your thread. Wrvond said it best, possibly not. Always best to have a complete system from the same manufacturer. It's safer that way. I have one of Gen-y's drop hitch and weight distribution setup. It works very well for me even with the large drop. You would be very happy with their systems. They have different options for you. A simple call to them may be your answer. They're very helpful. Talked to them a few times.
These are heavy duty hitches. They can weigh more than traditional, but if you want good quality no hassle and backed by a great company Gen-y' s the way. They were very helpful with my setup. Weight distribution is awesome.
I have one and use it, they are a well made drop hitch. My son-in-law uses my Gen-y drop hitch with my Anderson WB/sway control hitch with his F150 when towing my toy hauler, he tells me it tows well. I am thing of trying it out my self with my power wagon to give me a little more backup turning radius.
