Hubs overheating 87 F-250 6.9L with the 4600lb axles

so me and a buddy just did ball joints and outer tie rods on his truck and now the hubs are getting very hot when we test drove it and can’t figure our why. Any suggestions? I don’t think it’s the calipers locking up as they weren’t before hand

Because your wheel bearings are shot.

When you reassembled the front end, exactly how did you set bearing preload? It's not hard to go too tight, which will cause excessive heat and premature failure. You want them on the verge of having end play. Greased taper rolling bearings don't like being too tight.
