Console and glove box have no locking mechanism?

Is this true? I always thought the little key attached to the key fob would lock/unlock the console and glove box along with the seats in the back. My service writer said Ford stopped those locks 4 years ago and now have only the console lock box which costs extra.

Your dealer is wrong. I have the lock on both of mine from the factory.

Agreed - my 2017 has a locking center console, main glove box, and both rear seats. The regular ignition key operates the locks.

I'd get the lock box for the console unless you only want to keep honest people or toddlers out.
It's an easy install and fairly secure.

Thanks Tman! I was using the little key attached to the key fob. Yes the ignition key does it.

The little key attached to the key fob is probably the one for the bed cleats (four of them, half way up the sides of the bed - cleats may be in a box under the back seat).

I don't know about the bed cleats but the key fob mini-key works on the plug that gives you access to the tube to let the spare tire down.

I use the ignition key for that. I suspect that just about anything that fits in the hole will operate that particular lock.

Actually, the box-link cleats have a separate key that's included with the kit... Which I think I may have already misplaced.
