There is a thread on the fourth or fifth page that was a discussion about concealed carry and how comfortable the seats are or not with your holstered firearm. It quickly became a 2nd Amendment discussion then to lock boxes. Someone placed a link to another Ford Forum. It had some photos of a lock box a man was making in Texas, I emailed him and I got one. I have a series of photos of my installation. It took 2 hours only because I wanted to get it right. It came with everything needed plus some pretty good instructions. Not much in tools needed (drill/ratchet/socket). The cost was $200 to my door, nice. First photo shows what you get (lockbox with either key or combo lock, I did combo-screws-bracket-instructions). Second shows the lower console removed (I buggered the first plastic trim hold down plug, found it came out easy if you push from below). Third is the lockbox and lower console ready to be drilled.
Fourth should be the console with drill holes (it hurts but you will not see them once installed). Fifth is a lockbox in place ready for use. Sixth what it looks like closed.
Reply to last two posts It is close to impossible to get one in Maryland, we are a "may" issue state. My business gives me a good enough reason to carry. I give them a small book of paperwork to justify the permit. As to H&K vs Sig, I own both but for me the Sig just feels better in my hand. In 9mm I find I can recover from recoil for second & third better with Sig (trained two in the chest, one in the head on the way down). Only my version to be told. Chris
