Transmission shift points
has a 4 speed automatic transmission, I think? What is the shift option? 1st then 2nd then 3rd then into overdrive then the torque converter lock up or torque converter lock up then it shifts into overdrive? I asking because when towing and a small hill comes up i see a 300 rpm rise, before it if I hit the tow button I rises about 700. I assume the tow button takes it out of overdrive but does not unlock the torque converter.

My 2004 doesn't have a tow button, maybe that was added later in this generation, but it does have an OD off button to lock the transmission out of overdrive. As far as I can tell my 2004 goes 1,2,3,OD,Lock Converter. I don't think I've ever caught it lock the converter in direct (3rd), but I rarely use the OD off function, even when towing it hasn't been necessary.
