Throwing Codes...
I replaced the rail sensor in the hope that it was just a bad senor. Ir seemed to run fine, but coded again.
I figured that it wasn't the Pump Driver Module, as I've seen pics of those that are falling apart and still working, so I decided to replace the fuel pump.
What I found on the Warranty info for the mfg on Amazon, is that it was out of the window for replacement.
I found a "one left" complete assembly on Amazon at a great price. When It arrived, I discovered quickly, it was not the correct fit so off it went.
I had decided to look at the actual pump mamnufactures web site for the old pump, which is Carter, and there it stated that there is a limited lifetime warrenty.
I called them up and asked them. They put me in contact with a very nice lady who thought i was a shop calling for returns, but when I explained where I bought the pump and that I installed it myself, she said that if I send them a copy of the receipt they would send me a new pump. I asked about returning my old pump. She said to just destroy it.
I downloaded my Amazon order invoice from a year or so back, sent it to her, and had an email a couple day or so later, stating my net pump set was on the way.
The new pump arrived, and it actually had the name "CARTER" on the side of it.
Installed it, and it's been running fine since then.
I was not expecting a good experience dealing with the manufacturer, but it was great! Carter is part of TriCo these days.
Thanks to CARTER!!!
Good Day Folks.
I'm requesting any assistance in figuring whats going on, or about to happen with the van..
Yesterday afternoon while in town (I had just left the Ford Dealer), the van started running rough. Missing, sporadic missing, low power.
I stopped at an auto aone to have code pulled, which they couldn't due as there was no power to the OBDII, due to a blown cigarette lighter fuse.
I limped the van home. It did ok once up to 55.
I replaced the fuse and started the van, it still ran rough.
I hooked up my little code reader and pulled the codes, cleared them and restarted the van, which ran great then...
EDIT:
I found a site to look up all the codes.
It looks as if 2195 is an O2 sensor/stuck or just detected cyl misfires on cyl 1&3...The whole bank maybe..
This may have been after the P0191 Fuel Rail Sensor code..
The codes were:
P0191
P0300
P0301
P0303
P2195
Drove it this am, no issues.
Coming home this afternoon after being parked all day, the CEL came on again but ran fine.
Pulled the code this time and it was only P0191.
I changed the fuel pump and the Driver Module last year I think it was.
Both times the codes threw the temps were over 90 with very high heat index if that matters.
I'm guessing the P0191 is a fuel rail sensor (looking at post that popped up when googled), and the others individual plugs/coils??
I thought I had an index saved but I can't find it.
Any thoughts on to why this is happening??
Thanks
