codes 51 and 95
1990 4.0
Hello, I just checked the codes on my van. I got a code 51. The engine coolant temperature sensor or circuit. Both sensors are new. I also got code 95. The fuel pump is one week old, second pump in two months. It was under warranty thank god. Any ideas? I reset the codes, now the check engine light blinks on and off slowly and very dim.

codes 51 and 95
Oops I just realized I gave you the codes for GM. But here is the codes for Ford sorry about that hope I didn't confuse anyone.
Ford code 51 - Engine Coolant Temperature ECT, circuit open or out of range during test.
Ford code 95 - Fuel Pump secondary circuit failure/Fuel pump circuit open - EEC processor to motor ground.
Souds like code 95 is a short or a bad connection from the ECM to the fuel pump relay. This circuit is used by the computer to activate fuel pump. If this circuit is faulty it can appear your fuel pump is bad. This may explain why your mechanics keep telling you that your fuel pump is bad.
