I agree with this. I have a 32" travel trailer and it's usually one of the longer units in the areas that I camp. I wouldn't want anything longer than a 34ft 5er because anything longer just wouldn't fit in many sites (trees everywhere). I camped next to a friend on Memorial Day who has a 28ft trailer bumper to coupler and it took both of us to get him in and out of his site without wiping out the sides of the camper or running over boulders across the street. If you camp in the woods bring a small camper, if you camp in an RV resort or in any 50amp site, size doesn't really matter.

I'll probably downsize my fifth-wheel here in a year or two, in-part because I'm struggling to get comfortable with the sheer size of the thing (35-ft tip-to-tip with about 30-ft behind the truck bumper). I think the ideal for me (as a one- or two-night at a time camper) would be a TT in the low 20-foot range with twin axles and just the basic necessities. We bought the fifth-wheel thinking long-distance family trips over multiple-weeks. It would be great for that, but reality has conspired against us and the the best we can do is weekend camping at local destinations. The relatively large size limits our options locally.
