Rear End?
Hey guys quick question. What type of differential came in the 1979 F-100, and how can i tell which one i have? Keep in mind that i have never driven the truck, it's a resto-project so i really don't know what it has in it. any advice will help, thanks a bunch!

There is a metal tag under one of the bolts on the differential housing. It has a bunch of letters and numbers on it. You may need some solvent and a brush to get it clean enuf to read tho. When you get the numbers etc we can decode it and tell you what you have.

Thanks alot! You've been a big help. I will have this information for you tommorow. I hope it's some kind of limited slip differential or what do you think! i want my truck to have some power and performance! i am not going to tow or hall any thing with it so i mostly want it to be speedy you know? thanks a bunch
