Been done plenty of times. Pretty much a bolt in swap with the right parts. It's a great swap for a drag car or pro street style street car. Not so great if you actually want the car to handle going around curves. It adds a lot of nose weight to the car. Which not only hurts the handling but also hurts the braking.
A 351W is a better swap choice. It's a lighter engine then the 460 and can make plenty of power if built right.
But it really depends on what you want to accomplish with the swap.
A 351W punched out to 408 is probably the best choice there.
If I had someone GIVE ME a 460, I'd use it to build a truck - no question about it. It would be a pure grunt high torque plow monster from mars!
But for a 'Stang you definitely want to watch that front end suspension loading.
