I concur also. Its the 'if' its a good motor that I'm curious about. I'm sure it will work out OK. If they can offer unlimited mileage warranty for the first year they must be good.

Sounds good Darin. The shop told me today they will do the reving it up then dump the oil and for me to change it between 500 & 1000.

I'd be listening to Darrin fost and foremost. He's been there, done that. That's pretty darn cool they will be doing the break-in for you.

The boss wasn't there and the guy working on it didn't know. Here is some more mystery:

Uneven distribution of the water injection?

Wow Glenn, great pictures. I'm turbo stupid so is the picture the exhaust side or intake side? Guess I could understand the damage if it was the exhaust side as a chunk of the piston probably went through it. Read somewhere #8 cylinder always runs hotter than the rest, don't know for a fact though. Keep the faith, brand new engine and you should be good to go. It will be interesting to see your reports when you take off with the beast and overall performance compared to the old engine.

For some stupid reason i didn’t look at the intake side. Seems like I’ve heard #8 runs hotter, a fueling issue??? Might be time for a sxe. Might also be time to do away with water injection.

The damage to the turbine wheel looks like it could have been a result of the broken piston. It looks like there's a small piece of the piston missing which would have hit the turbine wheel.

Where are your water nozzles located and are they spraying into the center of the piping?

How the heck could the charger get that damage tho? I am floored really. The piston suxs but with the symptoms I kind of figured that would be the case.

IDK, can it be repaired or do I replace it? Man, I want to get out of here and don't want to wait on parts, grrrrr. I can put on a new turbo next winter when I'm at home. Sorry, just venting. 366SXE??? 369SXE???
