Feel like my truck is lacking power but unsure

I have a 93 ford f150 with the 5.0 and around 240k miles on it. I have had it for more than a year was wondering were they designed to not have power cause from a dead stop on any surface i cant get the tires to spin. The truck shakes when it shifts down to a lower rpm at 30 mph or above

Unless someone swapped that 9" rear axle in, your truck left the factory with 8.8". Check the label on the driver side b-pillar for the Axle code. Post it, we can tell you what gear ratio the truck left the factory with.

Yes, these trucks left the factory with very little power. I think in the 200HP range? If you are running larger tires than stock that also magnifies that a truck with a 5L engine is very under powered.

You should have a sticker on the drivers side door jamb like this...

See what the code for the axle is, mine is 18 for "3.08", 19 is 3.55 if it's not one of those... post it, and I'll tell you what it means :P

For the record, I have a '95 F-150 with the 5.0, and the "worst" rear end (3.08)... and it will burn tires if I floor it on dry pavement. So if your truck was healthy, it should be able to do the same... i'm guessing you have something holding you back.

Fuel filter?
Ignition coil?
Transmission fluid?
Clogged catalytic converter?

There are many things it could be.

Without knowing exactly what you have, there's no way to determine lost power or over expectations.
