more power

A friend has a 97 f150 with a six inch lift and 35 inch tires. He has a 4.6 lift. He wants more hoarse power how can he get about fifety hoarse power without supercharging it.

My first question would be, has he re-geared to numerically lower gear ratio to compensate for the larger tires?

That alone would wake up the truck and use its existing power more effectively.
